The History of the Company
In 2009, we looked around and noticed the only places to sell gold in Oklahoma City were pawn shops and jewelers. After some quick research, we found that most people didn’t like dealing with pawn shops (which is understandable) and we found that jewelers are in the selling business, not the buying business.
So with an idea (to provide Oklahoma City with a much higher level of service in the cash for gold industry), a website, a small 160 square foot office, $1,200 of our own money and a $5,000 loan from a family member…we launched OKC Gold Buyers!
Finding customers in the beginning was difficult. But the customers we had LOVED us and we knew we were on to something.
In September of 2010, we opened our first retail location off of I-240 to get more street exposure. It was a success!
In November of 2011, we opened a retail location in Lawton, OK right off of I-44.
We don’t really know what the future holds for us. We just show up every day and try to out-perform the expectations of our customers…and it seems to be working 🙂

What Got Us Here
We believe what got us here are 3 words: Honest. Professional. Service. And of course the very best customers in the industry!
Honest – We knew coming into this industry that people perceived it as “shady” or “scammy.” We wanted to offer something different to the people. We wanted to offer a straight-forward service that didn’t hide things from the customer. We wanted to show there was integrity in this industry.
Professional – When you deal with OKC Gold Buyers, we want you to walk out thinking we were professional. Do you get that at a pawn shop? Most likely not. We wanted to treat every one with respect and be sincere with people. We understand there are difficult situations in life and sometimes that’s why you are in one of our stores. We want to respect that, bring no pressure into the situation and do our best to serve you.
Service – This is a big one for us. We want to be known for going the extra mile. We want to under promise and over deliver…every time. Sometimes this may mean opening early or closing late because our business hours don’t fit your schedule. This may mean telling you the truth that you could get more money by doing “this” instead of selling your gold to us. It may be as simple as walking someone to their car so the feel more secure. Every day its different, but whatever it is we want to strive to be the best at delivering service.
